Welcome!
Welcome to the UCLA-Olive View Psychiatry Residency Training Program! We are a four-year, ACGME-accredited adult psychiatry program based in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles and sponsored by the University of California, Los Angeles, the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services, and the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health.
Our residents rotate through a variety of clinical settings, including multiple outpatient clinics in the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, the inpatient wards and psychiatric emergency room at Olive View-UCLA Medical Center, the student counseling center at California State University in Northridge, and the Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital of UCLA. Residents become adept at working with a variety of patient populations, often with very different treatment modalities. Our long-term outpatient clinic experience begins in the second year of training such that our residents can benefit from longitudinal therapeutic clinical relationships with outpatients for up to three years. In addition, we offer scholarly opportunities and academic mentorship meant to support and foster individual resident interests. Our graduates have gone on to successful careers in community mental health, private practice, and academic psychiatry.
